The "That's Good" Theory

I recently listened to an audio program by Jack Canfield, where he suggested that if you want to find something good in any situation, stop and say "That's good." What we want to do is to not judge a situation but instead observe it for what it is. And almost always, when you ask a better quality question, you will get a better response.

What Jack Canfield is suggesting is to become aware of what you are focusing on in any situation. If you focus on the negative or the bad things of a situation, you will not be able to see the positive or good in it. As it was once said, every adversity brings with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit. By applying the "That's good" principle, your focus will immediately change and your brain will start to come up with answers as to why that perceived negative or bad situation is good. An aware person is able to observe an event or experience and then decide what needs to be done.

So the next time you're in a difficult situation, stop and say "That's good" and start looking for the good in it. You will find an answer you are looking for and most times, the good in the situation will surprise you.
